Semi-Angelic tree beings who are the fruit of the Tree of Evermore, an ancient celestial outer-planar tree that is its own plane. After the collapse, they came from this to Alaraes and became the advisors to Kings, Queens, and Warlords. Some say it was their influence after the collapse that prevented, or at least shortened, centuries of fighting over the scraps of lost technology that remained. And that it was their influence that pushed the sophonts of Alaraes to rebuild.
While arelin have every appearance of being an average human female, albeit with swirling black patterns in their skin, they are actually the literal fruit of the great Tree of Evermore. Born for the purpose of enacting some great plan known only to the highest members of their order, the Lights of Evermore. Genderless and unable to bear children, the long-lived humanoids have gained high status in many kingdoms throughout the lands and are highly regarded as arbiters and law keepers. In all kingdoms, save Valmeadow, Drakken Tor, and Rosgath, they have standing writs of authority to act as magistrates, lawmen, and adjudicators with a binding authority.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1, your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Age. Arelin mature quickly, ready to go out into the world in as little as 1 year. The upper age of an arelin is unknown, as after about a century of service they are recalled their home plane.
Alignment. Your nature is inherited from your mother tree, and you are birthed Lawful Good, however some rare arelin fall from grace and may be other alignments.
Size. Arelin vary between 5 and 6 feet tall. Your size is medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, Infernal, Abyssal, and Celestial.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 1.
Magistrate. Once per long rest you may resolve some dispute unquestioned. Your word is law.
Out of the fold. None of your abilities work wile within the borders of Valmeadow, Drakken Tor, or Rosgath.
Justicar. Choose from one of the following three abilities:
Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Hunted. Other arelin you encounter will actively try to return you to the Tree of Evermore, to face justice for betraying your cause.
Marked. Your markings are affected and you will not be listened too.
Unfettered. Your magical powers are fully unleashed.
