Ouranite, Legendary
Only harvestable by pulling a soul out of a living creature this ouranite has a black color and is illegal to possess. Possession of this ouranite implies guilt of the wearer in pulling out someone’s soul and carries the death penalty. The ouranite itself retains the consciousness of the humanoid that was used to create it.
Armor – As an action, you become immune to all damage for 1 minute. Any damage you take is passed onto the ouranite itself and causes suffering to the soul inside it. After use, the ouranite dissolves and the screams of the consciousness inside escape into your own mind causing nightmares for 1d6+1 days before moving on to the afterlife. You suffer from 1 level of exhaustion for the duration that can only be removed by the Wish spell.
Weapon – The humanoid target of your attack must make a successful Will save with a DC of 12 + your proficiency bonus or have their soul pulled out of their body and be magically distilled into a new soul ouranite. Their body becomes a walking mindless husk that follows your commands for 1d6+1 days before turning to dust. After use, the ouranite dissolves and the soul inside the ouranite screams in horror at what you have forced them to do.
Other – You may permanently take on the appearance of the soul stored in the ouranite and gain their memories. You retain your personality, abilities, memory, and alignment. After use, the ouranite dissolves and the soul inside enters your mind, tormenting you for 1d6+1 days before moving on to the afterlife. You suffer from 1 level of exhaustion for the duration that can only be removed by the Wish spell.
