A great swirling, color shifting, and dangerous aurora that surrounds the continent a few miles out to sea. No one knows how it came to be, or what gives it its myriad of luminous colors. Several attempts have been made to study it over the centuries, though only three things can be said of it for certain: it is magical, it is effervescent to the touch, and all those who venture into it more than a few meters are never seen again.
